Stanley's Olde Maple Lane Farm // Fall Wedding

You cannot go wrong with having your wedding in the Fall! There are so many wonderful things this season brings to Ottawa. I’ll start off with the obvious… the colours. The reds, yellows and oranges make for the prettiest backdrops. If you love these colours, then I highly recommend planning your wedding in September – October. Thalia & Casey’s wedding was photographed on October 18^th. Even though the leaves had mostly fallen off by then, the ground was unreal! This season also brings cooler weather which I know the guys love. Being in a suit in the Fall is pretty comfortable!

There are so many stunning locations you can go to during Fall. One of them being Gatineau park where I spent a lot of time this year. Any location or venue in the country will have those amazing colours and even downtown Ottawa, in Major Hill Park has lots! There are a lot of things to factor in when planning a wedding and your season is definitely one of them.  

Thalia and Casey had a pretty crazy year for planning a wedding in 2020. Having a wedding in the Fall, with the pandemic starting in Spring, there was just way too much unknown to be certain what the Fall would bring us. They had to change their venue, vendors, guest list and be on the edge of their seats for weekly city rule changes. Being told weeks or days before your wedding your guest list number needs to change is a very stressful thing to go through. I felt so bad for all my couples having this stress to plan and re-plan during such a crazy time. 

Even with all this going on they pulled off such an incredible day at Stanley’s Olde Maple Lane Farm. To start off, the day was gorgeous, so sunny and not too cold. As you can see in the pictures the leaves covered their ceremony grounds completely. It was probably the best scenery of Fall I have ever seen. The images of Thalia and her father walking down the aisle is one of my favourite moments. Just BEAUTIFUL. After ceremony we did photos and reception was held outdoors. Stanley’s did a great job with accommodating the Covid guidelines. They had a cute patio surrounded with heaters, a fire, lights and it was such a cute, cozy set up! To end the day, we had sunset pics and dances by the fire! It really was such an intimate and special day. I am so, so, so happy for Thalia & Casey <3
