If you are considering having a backyard wedding, then this blog is for you! Melissa & Adam did such an AMAZING job. They had everything so perfectly set up, from ceremony with pretty rose petals down the aisle, handmade arch, huge tent for all their friends and family to eat under, dinner buffet set up and a dance floor! This area looked stunning at night. We were surrounded with tall trees that were covered with white lights. It truly looked and felt magical. Not only was their backyard stunning but they had SUCH beautiful places to go for photos! This is why I love country locations because there are always perfect places for pictures. Was such a beautiful day with so much love from their family and friends!
The cutest love story of Melissa & Adam -
"Melissa and Adam first met each other at work, in Richmond, British Columbia.
Melissa, as an implementation consultant, and Adam, a software developer. However, they didn't interact much the first year.
Adam did notice Melissa. He thought she was beautiful and was also amazed how kind and inclusive she was to others around the office.
Melissa also noticed Adam, who was quiet and kept to himself most of the time but caught a few glimpses of him flashing his dimple as he was playing a prank on a colleague.
Adam joined the company's Social Committee where Melissa was already a member. They had the odd chat at work-related events but that was pretty much it.
Melissa joined the gym across the street from the office, where Adam worked out every day. It was there that they started talking more. Even so, Adam preferred focusing on his workout than chatting ... it was hard getting to know him! But Melissa had a feeling about Adam, and knew she wanted to get to know him.
One day, Melissa won a pair of movie tickets, and knew she wanted to ask Adam to join her for a movie, but didn't want to make it awkward...especially if he was going to say no. After all, they still had to work together!
So after work, as Adam walked towards his car, Melissa approached him, and opened her mouth to deliver her carefully rehearsed invitation to the movies by saying: "Do you like movies? Because I have these 2 tickets... if you want them... you can have them". Adam didn't think anything of it. He figured she was being kind, and that she was simply offering the tickets. He responded with a simple “Ya”, asked when they expired, and that he might use them before then. And just like that, he was gone, so were both tickets. Wow. That is not how it was supposed to go she thought, as she stayed behind, trying to recover from the embarrassment.
She had taken the first big step, albeit clumsily, but Adam did not recognize what had happened.
It wasn't until he got home that Adam realized that Melissa was asking him out on a date. He worked up the nerve, throwing caution to the wind, and called Melissa before overthinking things. He got straight to the point and simply said “Hi Melissa, I want to take you to a movie this week”. Melissa later revealed she was in a grocery store when she answered the phone, and started dancing at that point in the middle of the produce section.
The rest folks, is history."
I remember feeling pretty lucky to be a part of their special day! They are such an amazing, sweet couple. Looking back at their photos reminds me how perfect this summer night was and how much love was in the room on this day!
I hope you enjoy the photos and get some inspiration if you are planning an intimate backyard wedding! I HIGHLY recommend if you are debating this option.
