This winter I have become very familiar with and fond of doing outdoor photoshoots! Whether it is a personal, family, or engagement shoot, I have really grown to love winter photography and its unique landscapes and lighting conditions, which you cannot always find in other seasons of the year.
I believe that winter shoots are extremely underrated! One of my favourite shoots this year was with Hana and Daniel. Their engagement shoot, which took place at Claudette Cain Park, demonstrates how beautiful images can be, even in the cold, snowy weather! Although winter presents photographers with certain challenges, the final images always inspire me to get back out there and encourage clients to do the same!
It was such a pleasure to work with Hana and Daniel last month and to learn more about their adorable love story. They went on their very first date at the Loft Board Game Cafe (so fun!) and have been inseparable ever since. For Daniel’s summer birthday, Hana surprised him with a party and invited his family from New Brunswick to attend! The party was held at Claudette Cain Park, which is why they chose this significant location to do their engagement shoot in December.
Please check out the photos below to see how beautiful winter photo sessions can be!
Fun fact: Hana and Daniel did a ceremony at the Mosque called a “Nikah” days after he popped the question, which is a Muslim celebration of an engagement. Their official ceremony will be held in two months, where they will be surrounded by friends and family.
Hana and Daniel; if you are reading this, I cannot WAIT to capture your wedding at Le Belvedere this Spring!
Stay tuned for wedding pictures of this beautiful couple after their special day.
